Family Time Services S
Kaleidoscope Therapy Services, LLC provides the following family time services to support safe and structured parent-child contact. Families are often referred to Kaleidoscope after the court has issued specific orders or standards regarding contact for one or both parents. Family time services are provided within community-based settings, as clinically and logistically appropriate. Across all levels of family time, the visitation facilitator remains within continuous visual and auditory range of the parent and child(ren) at all times to ensure safety, monitoring, and compliance with established guidelines.
Therapeutic Family Time:
Therapeutic family time is facilitated by a licensed mental health professional whose role is to clinically guide, monitor, and contain interactions and any conversations that arise organically during the session. The therapist does not utilize a predetermined weekly agenda; rather, interventions are responsive to family dynamics, clinical needs, and observed behaviors in real time. Therapeutic family time represents the most structured and restrictive level of visitation, implemented when significant clinical oversight is required to ensure the emotional and psychological safety of the children. Following each session, the therapist provides the visiting parent with clinical feedback and targeted recommendations to support progress and improve future interactions.

Parent-Coaching Family Time:
Parent-Coaching, as the term suggests, is a structured, intervention-based form of family time designed to actively support the development of safe, appropriate, and developmentally responsive parenting skills. During Parent-Coaching family time, the clinician provides in-the-moment guidance, modeling, and corrective feedback while interactions between the parent and child are occurring. This real-time coaching allows the therapist to immediately address concerns, reinforce positive behaviors, and redirect ineffective or potentially harmful parenting responses as they arise.

The focus of Parent-Coaching is skill acquisition and application, rather than observation alone. Feedback is continuous and integrated into the session to promote learning, insight, and behavioral change within the natural context of the parent-child relationship. This level of family time is appropriate when a parent demonstrates willingness to learn and engage in coaching but continues to require active therapeutic support to implement safe and effective parenting strategies consistently.
Supervised Family Time:
Strictly supervised family time consists of parent-child contact that is continuously monitored by a designated facilitator to ensure the physical and emotional safety of the child(ren). The facilitator’s role is limited to observation and supervision; no therapeutic intervention, clinical guidance, or parenting coaching is provided during these visits. The facilitator does not direct interactions or offer feedback, and involvement is restricted to situations in which a safety concern arises. Intervention occurs only when necessary to prevent or address behaviors that pose a risk to the child(ren) or significantly compromise their well-being.

SAFE Home Studies
A Structured Analysis Family Evaluation (SAFE) home study is completed when an individual is interested in either becoming a foster parent or a family member or kin is interested in becoming certified in the care of a child that has been removed from their home.

On average a home study consists of a minimum of three face-to-face meetings with the individual/family. These meetings include psychosocial questionaires and in-depth interviews. The process from start to finish takes approximately 45 days.
